The many meaning of life: Issues in developmental age
Nowadays there is an increasing attention to developmental factors because of their relevance for the prevention of emerging psychopathology. If there has been specific focus on research on childhood and adolescence since the beginning of the 20th century, many researchers are now focusing now on specificity of different moment of life that are characterized by distinctive developmental tasks. In adolescence individual are called to deal with the biological and hormonal changes of the body, to construct his/her own identity dealing with more and more complex emotion, and to identify his/her own independency in relation to prior attachment pattern. The aim of this symposium is to present different findings about difficulties in these tasks that can emerge among adolescents and children. Dr. Bassi, Prof. Mancinelli and Prof. Salcuni will focus their presentation on a network analysis conducted in order to study the relation between smartphone use or abuse and self-harming. Dr. Milesi, Dr. Tognasso, Dr. Gorla, Prof. Santona and Prof. Parolin, will present a study focused on mentalization topic, with particular attention to epistemic trust and trustworthiness evaluation, as a comprehension of relational development. Prof. Liberska will focus her presentation on the relation between the body image in adolescence and health behaviour, specifically focused on a girl sample. Also in childhood developmental tasks are important, and this is based on the assumption that each individuals develops in different ways, and different evolutionary trajectories are influenced by constitutional factors entangled with relational environment in which the child lives. In fact, Prof. Vladislav will focus her presentation on the relation that elapses between the impact of high conflict divorce and the development of children.
