Elena Cubero Briz
Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos del Principado de Asturias, SpainDetection and intervention in emotional problems in the educational field
The role of emotions in education has received great attention in recent years, representing one of the most studied constructs today, but contrasting with the little importance that had been given during the twentieth century. Today, it is one of the fundamental pillars in the literature on learning and performance and represents one of the foundations of a successful development process. The study of the impact of emotions in the teaching-learning process plays a key role both in ordinary educational processes and in situations of special vulnerability, learning and developmental disorders or difficulties, behavioural problems, and other associated problems. In this line, the present symposium integrates several works of the members of the Educational Psychology Commission of the Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos del Principado de Asturias and aims to deepen the detection and approach of different emotional aspects from and for the educational field. The first work deals with both the evaluation and the intervention of emotional variables in adolescents with high capacities. Secondly, an intervention programme will be shown in a school context focused on favouring emotional adjustment in minors involved in conflicting divorce processes. Following the line of intervention, a third intervention will be proposed in a case of functional diversity with special attention to emotional problems and psychosomatic manifestations. Finally, the problems of behaviour in the classroom of an ASD case will be approached with the aim of intervening for the sake of greater emotional stability.
